About Us
|
To achieve our aim to make Surrey safer, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service recognises the importance of delivering first class services to the people of Surrey that not only meet the needs of our diverse communities, but also represent efficiency and value for money for the Surrey taxpayer.
We want to reduce risk in communities and we do this primarily by educating the public on prevention of fire and other incidents and by providing a first class 999 emergency service when you need us.
We are committed to continuously improving our services and we regularly review and revise our policies and plans for the future to reflect the needs of Surrey residents. In order to do this effectively we need to understand the issues that are important to the public and listen to your views regarding the way we operate and manage our services - we run an annual programme of consultation and would welcome your engagement. |

Your Service, Your Safety |
One of the best ways we can make you safer is by ensuring you have smoke detectors in your home and are aware of what to do in the event of a fire. A free ‘Home Fire Risk Check' carried out by your local firefighters will help you do just that.

Safe Drive, Stay Alive' event.
The hard hitting road safety show took place on Thursday 6 November (7.30pm) at Dorking Halls, Dorking at www.surrey-fire.gov.uk/safedrive
Brighton Pride 2008
Surrey Fire and Rescue also engages with communities by attending key events. One recent example was our participation at ‘Brighton Pride' 2008 SFRS staff took part in the parade on Saturday 2 August from Madeira Drive to Preston Park, with two fire appliances highlighting the fire service's presence. With colleagues from the two neighbouring fire and rescue services, we also hosted a stand at Preston Park throughout the day. Taking part in the Pride event was an opportunity to deliver vital fire safety advice, offer road safety advice and promote recruitment opportunities. |
